About This Game:
Metal Unit is a side-scrolling action roguelite about Joanna, a soldier equipped with advanced combat armor while humanity fights for survival against monsters and machines. Her journey is also personal, as she searches for answers surrounding her sister’s connection to humanity’s enemies.
Runs provide a large assortment of weapons and equipment that can produce very different combat builds. Story progression and permanent systems gradually reveal more of the world while encouraging repeated journeys through dangerous areas.
How the Gameplay Works
Joanna uses melee weapons, firearms, dodges, jumps, and special equipment to move through enemy-filled stages. Randomized items provide different attack patterns and bonuses, making experimentation important from one run to another.
Equipment can be combined and upgraded, while death converts parts of the current run’s progress into resources useful for permanent advancement. Bosses and stronger enemy variants test whether the assembled build can handle more demanding combat.
