MMA Arena approaches mixed martial arts as a turn-based deck-building game rather than a real-time fighter. Players create a custom athlete, train in different combat disciplines, collect technique cards, and work through increasingly demanding opponents on the path toward becoming an MMA champion.
Different martial arts contribute their own techniques, including boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu. Building a fight deck therefore represents the athlete’s personal style and determines which offensive, defensive, and grappling options are available during a bout.
How the Gameplay Works
Fights play out in turns using cards representing strikes, defenses, takedowns, grappling techniques, and other MMA actions. Players choose which cards to include before competing, making deck construction an important part of preparing for opponents.
Training unlocks additional techniques and improves the range of possible strategies. Progress through leagues brings stronger opponents, while fighter customization allows body type, clothing, tattoos, and other visual features to be changed.
