Napoleon: Total War is a historical strategy game covering the military career and conflicts surrounding Napoleon Bonaparte. Campaigns move from his early operations in Italy and Egypt to the larger struggle for control of Europe, while additional scenarios allow players to command opposing coalitions.

How the Gameplay Works
On the campaign map, players manage cities, recruit armies, research technologies, conduct diplomacy, move fleets, and decide where to concentrate military resources. Armies then enter real-time battles when opposing forces meet.
Battlefield units can form lines, squares, columns, skirmish formations, and artillery positions while cavalry exploits exposed troops. Naval battles are also fought directly, with wind direction and ship positioning affecting movement and firing opportunities.
