Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered brings the high-speed police-versus-racer competition of the 2010 game back with improved visuals, additional content, and expanded multiplayer support. Set across the roads of Seacrest County, the game lets players experience both sides of an escalating conflict between exotic-car drivers determined to escape and highly equipped police units ordered to stop them.
Rather than concentrating on vehicle customization or urban street culture, Hot Pursuit focuses on immediate high-speed competition. Supercars race across highways, mountain roads, deserts, forests, and coastal routes while both racers and police gain access to technology designed to interfere with opponents. The remaster also incorporates the major downloadable content released for the original game.
How the Gameplay Works
The career is divided between Racer and Cop events. Racers compete for first place, escape pursuing police, and use defensive equipment to stay ahead. Police events reverse the objective, requiring players to intercept racers before they reach safety. Tactical equipment such as spike strips, EMP attacks, roadblocks, and other systems can damage vehicles or disrupt their momentum.
Successful events earn Bounty and increase progression on the appropriate career path, gradually unlocking faster cars and additional equipment. Autolog tracks the activities and times of friends and turns them into challenges, encouraging repeated attempts at events. Multiplayer supports competition across different platforms, allowing online races and pursuits between a wider group of players.
