Neptunia Shooter takes characters from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series and places them inside a compact retro-inspired shoot-’em-up. The game trades the franchise’s usual RPG structure for fast side-scrolling shooting filled with enemies, projectiles, and familiar character cameos.
Its short arcade format is designed around replaying stages, improving performance, and chasing higher scores rather than following a lengthy role-playing campaign.
How the Gameplay Works
Players initially control Neptune as she flies through pixel-art stages and fires continuously at waves of enemies. Defeating certain characters allows them to join the run, expanding the available attacks and giving the player additional offensive options.
Enemy formations become increasingly dense as the stage progresses, requiring precise movement through projectile patterns. Boss encounters provide larger targets and more complicated attack sequences before the run continues.
