Nova Drift is an arcade-style space shooter that combines fast Asteroids-inspired combat with deep build customization normally associated with action RPGs. Players control a small spacecraft against endless waves of enemies while repeatedly choosing upgrades that can completely transform how the ship fights.
Rather than collecting permanent equipment from a traditional inventory, most of the build develops during the current run. Weapons, shields, ship bodies, and dozens of modifications can interact in unusual ways, encouraging experimentation with powerful combinations.
How the Gameplay Works
Players steer freely around an open combat area while firing at enemy ships and avoiding projectiles. Defeated enemies provide experience, and leveling allows one upgrade from a selection of possible modifications to be chosen.
Upgrades can improve basic statistics or fundamentally alter how weapons and defensive systems behave. Combining compatible modifications can create specialized builds involving drones, missiles, shields, rapid-fire weapons, massive projectiles, or other unusual strategies.
