About This Game:
Opus Magnum is an open-ended engineering puzzle game about building alchemical machines that transform input materials into required products. Players arrange mechanical arms, tracks, glyphs, and instructions to create working processes with as much or as little efficiency as they choose.

Every puzzle can be solved in many ways. The real challenge often begins after finding a working solution, when players try to reduce cost, area, or number of cycles and compare designs against performance histograms.

How the Gameplay Works
Players place programmable arms and give them sequences such as grab, rotate, extend, retract, pivot, and release. Alchemical glyphs bond, separate, transform, or dispose of elements as materials move through the machine.

Later puzzles introduce larger molecules and more complicated transformations, requiring synchronized mechanisms. A freeform editor and sharing tools encourage players to build and compare elaborate machines beyond the campaign.
