Over The Top: WWI is a large-scale World War I action game built around destructive battlefields and enormous multiplayer clashes. Players fight for France, Britain, or Germany across maps where artillery, explosives, vehicles, and infantry can dramatically reshape the terrain. Trenches can be dug, buildings can collapse, fortifications can be destroyed, and explosions can permanently alter routes and lines of sight.
Battles support a wide variety of battlefield roles, ranging from ordinary riflemen to engineers, flamethrower specialists, and officers capable of calling in additional support. Historical weapons are joined by aircraft, tanks, artillery, poison gas, and several more unconventional items.
How the Gameplay Works
Players select one of several classes and join large objective-based battles. Riflemen provide straightforward infantry combat, engineers can shape defensive positions, officers coordinate support, and specialized classes provide different ways to clear trenches or attack fortified locations.
Destruction is persistent during the battle, so artillery can remove cover or create entirely different approaches to an objective. Players can dig into terrain, operate vehicles, use heavy weapons, and fight alongside large numbers of teammates. Battles can reach as many as 200 players, creating constantly shifting front lines across heavily damaged maps.
