About This Game:
Peter Jackson’s King Kong is an action adventure based on the 2005 film, following filmmaker Carl Denham’s expedition to the mysterious Skull Island. Much of the story is experienced through Jack Driscoll as the group attempts to survive attacks from prehistoric creatures, while selected sections allow players to control King Kong himself.
The game uses minimal interface elements to create a cinematic presentation, relying on visual and audio cues instead of constantly displaying traditional health and ammunition information. Its environments range from dark ruins and narrow jungle paths to large areas filled with dinosaurs and other dangerous wildlife.
How the Gameplay Works
Jack’s sections are played from a first-person perspective using firearms, spears, fire, and environmental objects to survive. Ammunition is deliberately limited, so players sometimes need to distract predators or use improvised weapons instead of shooting every creature they encounter.
Kong’s sections switch to third-person action where his strength allows him to climb, swing through environments, and fight large creatures directly. Battles involve powerful punches, grabs, throws, and finishing attacks against dinosaurs and other threats.
