About This Game:
Rogue Legacy is a side-scrolling action roguelite in which each failed attempt is followed by a new descendant from the same family. The goal is to repeatedly explore a dangerous castle, defeat its major guardians, and gradually build enough strength to reach the ruler waiting at the end.

Every heir can have a different class and unusual genetic traits that alter movement, combat, vision, size, or other aspects of play. The castle layout changes between generations, ensuring that players cannot simply memorize one fixed route.

How the Gameplay Works
Players explore rooms, fight monsters, collect gold, discover treasure, and battle bosses using melee attacks, spells, and class abilities. Death permanently ends that hero’s attempt and returns control to a selection of possible heirs.

Gold collected during the previous life can be invested in a family manor that provides permanent statistical upgrades and new classes. Equipment and runes add further bonuses, gradually making deeper sections of the castle easier to survive.
