Samurai II: Vengeance is a stylized action game following samurai Daisuke on a violent journey of revenge against the warlord Orochi. The adventure moves through villages, fortresses, countryside, and other Japanese-inspired environments while placing the player against groups of swordsmen, archers, armored warriors, and other enemies.

The game uses a distinctive comic-book presentation with bold visuals and cinematic transitions between encounters. Combat is fast and focused on sword combinations, dodging, and finishing attacks, creating a straightforward hack-and-slash experience built around increasingly difficult groups of opponents.

How the Gameplay Works
Players move Daisuke through fixed environments while using light and heavy sword attacks to create different combinations. Rolling allows incoming attacks to be avoided and can help reposition Daisuke when enemies begin attacking from several directions.
