Severed Steel is a fast first-person shooter built around constant movement, acrobatics, environmental destruction, and stylish gunfights. Players control Steel, a one-armed fighter who battles through heavily guarded facilities using speed and mobility to overcome enemies with superior numbers and firepower.
Because Steel cannot reload weapons normally, combat is designed around taking firearms from defeated enemies and constantly switching equipment. Levels combine destructible environments with movement abilities, allowing players to create their own routes through walls and attack from unexpected directions.
How the Gameplay Works
Steel can slide, dive, wall run, jump, and perform flips while continuing to fire. Slow-motion can be activated during dangerous moments, making it easier to line up accurate shots or move through heavy enemy fire. Staying mobile is important because standing still leaves the player vulnerable to groups of armed opponents.
Weapons are discarded once empty, encouraging players to steal another firearm and continue attacking without breaking momentum. Certain surfaces can be destroyed using explosives or the arm cannon, opening shortcuts and new firing angles. Missions reward creative combinations of movement, precision, and environmental destruction.
