Shovel Knight Dig is a vertical roguelite platformer where Shovel Knight chases Drill Knight and the Hexcavators deep underground after his camp is attacked. The game combines the series’ familiar shovel mechanics with procedurally arranged descent-based stages.
Each run rearranges room layouts, enemies, relics, and rewards, making the route downward different every time. The pixel art is more detailed than the original Shovel Knight while preserving the same retro style.
How the Gameplay Works
Players jump, bounce on enemies with the shovel, dig through dirt blocks, collect gems, and use relics or temporary upgrades. Moving downward quickly is often rewarded, but rushing can cause missed treasure or dangerous landings.
Bosses guard major regions, while permanent unlocks provide new items and options for future runs. Death ends the current descent but knowledge of hazards and upgrade combinations makes later attempts more effective.
