Skul: The Hero Slayer is a fast-paced action roguelite that reverses the usual fantasy setup by putting players in control of a small skeleton fighting to rescue the Demon King. Human heroes and the Imperial Army have attacked the demon stronghold, leaving Skul to pursue the captors through a series of dangerous regions.
Skul’s defining ability is replacing his skull with those of other characters, instantly changing his attacks, movement options, and special powers. Dozens of skull types allow runs to shift between melee combat, magic, speed-focused builds, transformations, and other specialized styles.
How the Gameplay Works
Each run consists of branching rooms containing enemies, rewards, shops, events, and bosses. Players choose routes based on whether they want new skulls, money, items, or other resources.
Two skulls can be carried and swapped during combat, allowing their abilities to complement one another. Items provide additional effects and synergies, while death ends the current run but permanent upgrades help strengthen Skul for future attempts.
