Shellshock: Nam ’67 is a third-person military shooter set during the Vietnam War and presented with a deliberately grim portrayal of jungle combat. Players follow American soldier Caleb Walker through missions involving assaults, patrols, rescues, infiltrations, and battles against Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces.
The game emphasizes the harsh atmosphere of the conflict with dense jungle environments, period-inspired weapons, battlefield hazards, and a darker tone than many conventional military shooters of its era. A military base also serves as a recurring location between operations.
How the Gameplay Works
Players fight from a third-person perspective using rifles, pistols, machine guns, grenades, and other weapons appropriate to the period. Movement options such as crouching and going prone help make use of foliage, terrain, and available cover.
