Space Crew is a strategic crew-management game that takes the structure of Bomber Crew into outer space. Players command a customizable spacecraft and its crew while completing dangerous missions involving alien attacks, rescues, exploration, transportation, and large space battles.
Every crew member has an important position aboard the ship, and problems can quickly spread when systems are damaged or enemies board the vessel. Successful missions provide resources that can be used to improve both the spacecraft and the people operating it.
How the Gameplay Works
Players issue orders to individual crew members rather than directly controlling the ship like a traditional space shooter. Pilots, engineers, weapons specialists, communications officers, and other crew members must be moved between stations depending on what is happening during a mission.
Combat requires targeting enemy ships while simultaneously watching shields, weapons, oxygen, power, fires, injuries, and damaged equipment. Between missions, players can customize their ship, purchase stronger equipment, improve defenses, and develop surviving crew members into more capable specialists.
