About This Game:
Strange Horticulture is an occult puzzle game about managing a small plant shop in the mysterious town of Undermere. Customers arrive seeking herbs and unusual specimens for ailments, rituals, investigations, and personal problems, but the player begins with many plants whose identities are still unknown.
Correctly identifying plants requires studying their appearance, scent, shape, and properties before comparing them with descriptions in a botanical reference book. As the days pass, apparently ordinary customer requests become connected to a larger supernatural mystery.
How the Gameplay Works
Players examine plants on the shop counter and match them to entries in an illustrated encyclopedia. Giving a customer the correct specimen advances their story, while mistakes can increase a rising sense of dread and cause complications.
Letters, maps, clues, and riddles also lead players outside the shop to discover new plants and locations. Important decisions determine which characters receive certain specimens, allowing the storyline to branch toward different conclusions.
