About This Game:
Stronghold Crusader Extreme HD takes the castle-building warfare of Stronghold Crusader and pushes battles toward a much larger and faster scale. Set during the Crusades, players construct fortified settlements, manage resources, recruit armies, and fight rival lords across desert battlefields.
The Extreme variant is designed around much larger troop numbers and additional tactical abilities. Automated reinforcement outposts can continuously produce soldiers, while a special power system provides battlefield abilities that can rapidly change the direction of a siege.
How the Gameplay Works
Players gather wood, stone, iron, food, and other resources before constructing walls, towers, gates, workshops, housing, and military buildings. Taxes, food distribution, religion, fear, and other factors influence popularity, which determines whether peasants continue arriving at the castle.
Armies can include archers, spearmen, swordsmen, knights, assassins, horse archers, siege weapons, and many other units. Extreme battles add reinforcement outposts and tactical powers to the normal economy-and-siege formula, allowing thousands of troops to clash during large assaults.
