About This Game:
Subnautica is an open-world survival adventure set on ocean planet 4546B after the Aurora spacecraft crashes during a mission far from Earth. The player survives in an escape pod and must explore an alien ocean filled with coral reefs, deep caves, volcanic regions, enormous creatures, and the remains of mysterious technology.
Progress is driven by exploration rather than a traditional leveling system. Discovering new materials and scanning technology unlocks equipment that allows deeper diving, larger bases, and vehicles capable of reaching environments that would otherwise be impossible to survive.
How the Gameplay Works
Players gather minerals, plants, food, and water before crafting diving equipment, tools, storage, vehicles, and underwater habitats. Oxygen limits early exploration, requiring careful planning before traveling far from the surface.
Vehicles such as the Seamoth and Prawn Suit extend exploration into deeper biomes, while the Cyclops provides a much larger mobile submarine. Following distress signals and discovering alien structures gradually reveals the planet’s history and a route toward escape.
