About This Game:
Potionomics is a shop-management and deckbuilding game about Sylvia, a young witch who inherits a struggling potion shop and must turn it into a successful business. Brewing, negotiation, relationships, and competition all contribute to keeping the shop financially alive.
The game combines economic planning with a card-based haggling system. Building friendships with other characters can unlock new cards, recipes, ingredients, and useful bonuses.
How the Gameplay Works
Players brew potions by combining ingredients with different magical properties, manage cauldrons and shelf space, set up the shop, and then negotiate with customers using cards. Stress can add negative cards during difficult sales.
Competitions create deadlines that require brewing high-quality potions before rival merchants. Relationships can develop into romance with selected characters, while better equipment improves brewing efficiency. Success depends on balancing ingredient costs, potion quality, time, and sales strategy. Most of the depth comes from understanding how potion shop management, ingredient-based brewing, and deckbuilding negotiation fit together during normal play. Each one can solve a different problem, and customer haggling becomes another factor that changes priorities later on. Players who adapt those systems to the current situation are usually more successful than those who follow one rigid plan.
