Tekken 6 is a 3D fighting game that expands the long-running series with a larger roster, new combat mechanics, and a story centered around the growing conflict between the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation. Jin Kazama now controls the Mishima Zaibatsu and begins a worldwide campaign that throws nations into chaos, while Kazuya Mishima leads G Corporation against him. Alongside returning fighters, the game introduces several new characters, including Lars Alexandersson, Alisa Bosconovitch, Bob, Leo, Miguel, and Zafina.
The game keeps the series’ traditional one-on-one fighting while adding more movement, environmental interaction, and combo possibilities. Each character has an extensive move list built around a distinctive fighting style, giving players plenty of room to learn attacks, counters, throws, launchers, and longer combinations. Tekken 6 also includes several single-player and multiplayer modes, with Scenario Campaign offering a different style of combat outside the standard fighting matches.
How the Gameplay Works
Matches take place in 3D arenas where players use punches, kicks, throws, blocks, sidesteps, and combination attacks to reduce the opponent’s health before the round ends. The traditional four-button control system assigns one button to each limb, allowing different inputs and directional commands to perform a large selection of moves. Launching an opponent into the air can lead to extended juggle combinations, while wall positioning and stage hazards can create additional opportunities for damage.
Tekken 6 introduces the Rage system, which increases a fighter’s damage output when their health becomes low, creating opportunities for late-round comebacks. Certain stages also feature breakable floors or walls that can send fighters into another section of the arena. Scenario Campaign changes the usual format by placing players in larger environments filled with groups of enemies, items, and bosses, while traditional Arcade, Versus, Practice, and online modes provide the familiar competitive Tekken experience.
