About This Game:
Tempest 4000 is a high-speed arcade shooter that modernizes the tube-shooting formula associated with the classic Tempest series. Players control the Claw along the edge of geometric stages while waves of enemies climb toward them from the far end of the playfield.
Bright neon effects, rapid movement, electronic music, and increasingly intense enemy patterns create an intentionally overwhelming audiovisual style. The basic objective remains simple, but survival becomes difficult as stages introduce faster and more aggressive threats.
How the Gameplay Works
The Claw moves around the outer lanes of each geometric web and fires inward at approaching enemies. Allowing enemies to reach the edge is dangerous because they can attack at close range, so targets often need to be prioritized according to how quickly they are advancing.
Power-ups temporarily improve offensive capability, while jumping and the Superzapper provide additional ways to escape or clear threats. Completing a web launches the player into a transition sequence before the next stage begins.
