About This Game:
The Escapists is a prison sandbox where players must devise a way to break out while pretending to follow the institution’s daily routine. Each prison has its own layout, security level, guard patterns, jobs, restricted areas, and weaknesses that can be exploited with enough preparation.
Successful escapes require patience rather than simply running toward a fence. Players gather materials, craft tools, improve character statistics, develop relationships with inmates, and carefully hide illegal items before guards discover them.
How the Gameplay Works
A strict schedule controls roll calls, meals, exercise periods, work assignments, showers, and free time. Missing required activities raises guard suspicion, so escape preparations usually take place between normal prison responsibilities.
Items can be stolen, traded, or crafted into cutters, shovels, disguises, weapons, and other equipment. Players may dig tunnels, cut fences, steal uniforms, access ventilation systems, or discover entirely different escape routes depending on the prison.
