About This Game:
The Swapper is a science-fiction puzzle platformer set aboard an abandoned research station called Theseus. A lone explorer discovers a handheld device capable of creating human clones and transferring consciousness between them, leading to increasingly difficult questions about identity and what it means for a person to remain the same.
The station’s story is uncovered through terminals, environmental details, and mysterious alien rocks connected to the researchers who once lived there. Its environments were created using physical clay models and everyday materials, giving the world a distinctive handmade appearance.
How the Gameplay Works
Players can create several clones that mirror every movement of the original character. The Swapper device can then transfer consciousness into one of those copies, effectively moving the player’s active body to another location.
Different colored lights interfere with cloning or swapping abilities, forcing players to carefully position multiple bodies. Puzzle rooms reward orbs that unlock deeper sections of the station and gradually expose the full story.
