About This Game:
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is a dark detective adventure in which Sherlock Holmes finds his reputation under attack after evidence begins connecting him to suspicious and criminal activity. As public trust disappears and Scotland Yard becomes increasingly interested in his actions, Dr. Watson begins questioning what is really happening to his longtime friend.
The story presents one of Holmes’ more personal investigations, taking players through murders, hidden laboratories, poor districts, elegant homes, and other parts of Victorian London. The mystery gradually expands beyond a single crime into a conspiracy that places both Holmes and Watson in danger.
How the Gameplay Works
Players examine crime scenes, collect evidence, question characters, and solve puzzles in order to reconstruct events. Holmes can closely inspect bodies and objects for small clues, while his deduction abilities help connect pieces of evidence into possible explanations.
Inventory items, chemical analysis, mechanical puzzles, and environmental clues are used throughout the investigation. Players can control both Holmes and Watson during different portions of the story, with progress depending on careful exploration and identifying the significance of seemingly minor details.
