About This Game:
The Typing of The Dead: Overkill transforms the light-gun shooting of The House of the Dead: Overkill into a typing-based action game. Instead of aiming and firing at approaching mutants, players eliminate enemies by quickly and accurately typing the words and phrases displayed on screen.
The game retains the original’s intentionally excessive grindhouse presentation, story, characters, and horror-comedy tone while replacing gunplay with keyboard challenges that grow more demanding as larger groups of enemies appear.
How the Gameplay Works
Enemies appear with text displayed beside them. Typing the complete word or phrase correctly destroys the associated target, while mistakes delay the attack and give enemies more time to reach the player.
Different encounters introduce longer phrases, faster threats, and priority targets that force quick decisions about what to type first. Boss battles adapt the same mechanic into larger sequences, while the package also includes more traditional shooting-based gameplay options.
