Thief Gold is an expanded edition of the original stealth classic starring Garrett, a professional thief operating in a dark medieval-industrial city. Rather than emphasizing direct combat, the game places players in mansions, prisons, temples, underground ruins, and other heavily guarded locations where staying unseen is usually the safest approach.
How the Gameplay Works
Players navigate missions by studying patrol routes, hiding in shadows, moving quietly across different floor surfaces, and finding alternate entrances. Garrett uses equipment such as a blackjack, bow, water arrows, rope arrows, flash bombs, and lockpicks to avoid or disable guards. Missions often contain optional valuables and multiple routes, allowing careful players to complete objectives without confronting most enemies directly.
