About This Game:
Tropico 5 is a city-building and political management game where the player rules a Caribbean island across several historical eras. Beginning during colonial rule, El Presidente can guide the nation through independence, world wars, the Cold War, and modern times.

The era system changes available buildings, technology, trade opportunities, political relationships, and military threats. The dynasty system also introduces members of the ruling family who can take government roles and provide bonuses.

How the Gameplay Works
Players build farms, mines, factories, housing, entertainment, schools, power plants, tourism facilities, military structures, and infrastructure. Citizens need jobs, homes, food, healthcare, faith, liberty, and other services, while factions react to government decisions.

Trade routes generate export income, research unlocks new buildings, and elections can threaten the ruler if public support falls too low. Multiplayer allows several rulers to develop islands within the same map and cooperate or compete.
