Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty is a standalone tactical expansion built around a small team of elite Allied soldiers operating behind enemy lines during World War II. Each commando specializes in a particular set of skills, forcing players to combine their abilities instead of relying on a single character to complete every objective.
Missions take place in heavily guarded areas filled with patrols, vehicles, buildings, and defensive positions. Success usually depends on observing enemy routines and quietly removing obstacles before attempting the main objective, making careful planning more important than direct combat.
How the Gameplay Works
Players view each mission from an isometric perspective and issue commands to individual team members. The Green Beret can handle physical tasks and close-range attacks, the Sniper removes distant enemies, the Sapper works with explosives, and other commandos provide specialized abilities needed for different situations.
Enemy soldiers have visible fields of view, allowing players to study safe paths and identify moments when guards can be distracted or eliminated. New mechanics expand the tactical options, while missions require objectives such as sabotage, infiltration, rescue, and escape to be completed without losing essential team members.
