Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is a World War II tactical shooter that follows Sergeant Matt Baker and his men during Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands. The campaign takes the squad through towns, countryside, bridges, and defensive positions as Allied forces attempt to open a route into Germany.
The game continues the series’ mixture of personal storytelling and squad tactics while presenting battles with more detailed environments and destruction. Baker’s relationships with the soldiers under his command remain an important part of the campaign as the unit suffers the consequences of a difficult airborne operation.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control Baker directly as a first-person shooter while commanding separate squad elements. Fire teams can suppress enemy positions, while assault teams and other specialists are moved into flanking positions where they can attack more effectively.
The battlefield can be viewed from a tactical command perspective when giving orders, making it easier to select positions and targets. Certain types of cover can be damaged or destroyed, preventing enemies from remaining protected indefinitely. Tanks and heavy weapons also appear during larger engagements, while a separate multiplayer component supports competitive battles.
