About This Game:
True Crime: New York City is an open-world crime action game that follows Marcus Reed, a former gang member who becomes a New York City police detective. After the death of his mentor, Marcus begins investigating the circumstances behind the incident while dealing with criminal organizations, corruption, and his own complicated past. The story moves through a large recreation of Manhattan filled with missions, crimes, shops, vehicles, and optional activities.
Unlike many open-world crime games, Marcus operates as a police officer and can choose whether to follow the law or abuse his authority. His decisions affect his standing as a good or bad cop, while the city contains spontaneous crimes that can be handled alongside the main investigation.
How the Gameplay Works
Players travel around the city on foot or in vehicles while responding to missions and street crimes. Marcus can use firearms, engage enemies in hand-to-hand combat, arrest suspects, frisk civilians, and collect evidence. Different fighting styles and weapon skills can be improved as the game progresses.
