About This Game:
Unbound: Worlds Apart is a hand-drawn puzzle platformer set in a fantasy universe connected by mysterious portals. Players follow Soli, a young mage whose home is destroyed after a gateway releases dangerous creatures into his world. Searching for answers sends him through abandoned ruins, underground passages, strange forests, and other places affected by the same supernatural forces.
Soli is not a traditional warrior and instead relies on portal magic to survive. Different portals temporarily change the rules of the surrounding area, altering gravity, revealing hidden platforms, changing creatures, manipulating time, or producing other effects. Understanding these transformations becomes the key to both exploration and puzzle solving.
How the Gameplay Works
Players run and jump through interconnected areas while creating portals at specific moments. Stepping inside a portal’s radius can change how that portion of the world behaves, allowing Soli to reach platforms, avoid monsters, activate mechanisms, or discover routes that would otherwise remain inaccessible.
New portal abilities are introduced as the journey continues, creating increasingly complicated platforming situations. Exploration also rewards players with hidden collectibles and optional challenges. Since Soli cannot simply overpower most threats, carefully understanding enemy behavior and using the environment correctly is often more important than direct confrontation.
