About This Game:
Void Bastards is a first-person roguelike shooter where a prison transport vessel becomes stranded inside the dangerous Sargasso Nebula. Rather than controlling one permanent hero, players guide a succession of prisoners sent into derelict spacecraft to recover parts and supplies for the damaged ship.
Every prisoner has different traits that can help or complicate an expedition. Ships also vary in layout, security systems, hazards, enemies, and available resources, turning preparation and route planning into an important part of survival.
How the Gameplay Works
Before boarding a vessel, players can inspect its basic layout and decide whether the potential supplies are worth the danger. Once inside, ammunition and oxygen are limited, encouraging quick exploration rather than clearing every room.
Recovered materials are crafted into weapons, tools, and permanent equipment upgrades shared by future prisoners. Death replaces the current character with another inmate while retaining important crafted progression.
