Wargroove 2 is a turn-based tactics game that expands the original with new factions, commanders, campaigns, and a roguelike Conquest mode. Armies clash across colorful grid maps where terrain, unit matchups, income, and positioning matter more than raw numbers alone.
Commanders still fight directly on the battlefield and use powerful Groove abilities, but the sequel introduces new mechanics and units that make each faction feel more distinct. Story campaigns follow several characters and conflicts across the world of Aurania.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move infantry, cavalry, ranged units, naval forces, and special troops across tiles, capture villages for income, recruit new units, and attack enemies based on range and terrain. Critical-hit conditions reward careful placement.
Conquest mode turns the tactics into a run-based challenge where units and resources carry between battles. Multiplayer, custom maps, and campaign-building tools provide additional replay value, while different commanders encourage experimentation with aggressive, defensive, or support-focused strategies. That makes turn-based grid tactics more than a separate feature, because it directly affects how new factions and commanders and groove abilities are approached. As land and naval units becomes more important later on, players are encouraged to refine the same core systems instead of abandoning them for completely different mechanics.
