About This Game:
Crying Suns is a tactical roguelite set after a vast machine-supported galactic empire suddenly collapses. Players command a battleship led by a cloned admiral who travels between star systems to uncover what happened to the machines that once maintained civilization.
The game combines narrative encounters and procedural exploration with real-time tactical battles involving capital ships and deployable squadrons.
How the Gameplay Works
Players choose routes across star maps and spend limited fuel while investigating planets, distress signals, ruins, and random events. Decisions can provide resources, crew members, equipment, or dangerous consequences.
During battles, the battleship launches fighter squadrons onto a tactical grid while using onboard weapons against the opposing vessel. Officers, ship systems, weapons, and squadron combinations provide different approaches to each encounter.
