Wretch: Divine Ascent is a dark medieval tactical auto-battler where victory is determined before much of the actual fighting begins. Players organize equipment, attacks, and accessories inside a limited inventory, attempting to create combinations that will execute effectively once the automated duel starts.
Several playable classes provide different foundations for a build, while hundreds of pieces of equipment and abilities create numerous possible combinations. Items can also be fused or arranged to interact with effects such as critical hits, blocking, speed, and other combat bonuses.
How the Gameplay Works
Before each battle, players purchase and position items inside the available backpack. The arrangement determines which effects connect, how moves trigger, and what advantages the fighter carries into the upcoming one-versus-one confrontation.
Battles then resolve automatically against other player-created builds. Multiplayer is asynchronous, so opponents do not need to be online at the same time. Runs continue through a sequence of battles while increasingly powerful combinations become available.
