About This Game:
X-Men: The Official Game is a third-person action title set between the events of the films X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. The story follows Wolverine, Iceman, and Nightcrawler through separate missions that expand on events affecting the team before the third movie.
Each character plays differently, allowing the campaign to shift between close-range fighting, ice-based attacks, teleportation, and acrobatic movement. Their separate storylines eventually connect around a larger conflict involving familiar X-Men enemies and allies.
How the Gameplay Works
Wolverine specializes in melee combat using claws, combos, and regenerative abilities. Iceman moves through stages using his ice powers for ranged attacks and high-speed traversal, while Nightcrawler teleports rapidly between enemies and environmental positions.
Completing stages earns improvements that enhance character abilities. Missions include standard combat, boss battles, traversal challenges, and objectives tailored around the powers of whichever mutant is currently being controlled.
