About This Game:
Hungry Horrors is a card-based roguelite that gives a princess an unusual solution to surviving monsters from British and Irish folklore: cook for them before they decide to eat her instead. Traditional dishes become the player’s main form of defense while a talking cat accompanies the journey through a world filled with legendary creatures.
Recipes, ingredients, flavors, and creature preferences create the strategic foundation of each run. The objective is not to attack every Horror directly but to prepare meals capable of satisfying it before the princess becomes the next course.
How the Gameplay Works
Players build a deck around ingredients and prepared foods before encountering hungry creatures. Different dishes create flavor combinations and synergies, while individual Horrors respond differently to what is served.
Progress through each run provides additional recipes and strategic options. Choosing which dishes to prepare and when to serve them becomes increasingly important against stronger creatures with more demanding appetites. Failure sends the princess into another attempt with better knowledge of the mythology and available recipes.
