About This Game:
Abandon Ship is a naval strategy and exploration game set in a dark age-of-sail world filled with hostile ships, sea monsters, cults, storms, and dangerous islands. Players command a vessel and crew while traveling across a painted map and trying to survive a larger conflict.
The game treats the ship and crew as resources that can be damaged, lost, or replaced. Losing the vessel does not always end the campaign, because a surviving captain may escape and continue the journey from a smaller craft.
How the Gameplay Works
During combat, players position the ship, choose targets, fire cannons, use special ammunition, repair damaged sections, and assign crew members to weapons or emergency tasks. Wind direction and range affect how well attacks can be lined up.
Outside battle, the ship moves between ports, islands, events, and unexplored regions. Supplies, crew skills, hull condition, upgrades, and money must be managed carefully before taking on stronger enemies.
