About This Game:
Above Snakes is an isometric survival game set in a fictional American frontier affected by a mysterious plague. Instead of beginning with a complete open world, players construct the wilderness themselves by placing new terrain tiles, gradually creating forests, lakes, settlements, resource areas, and dangerous regions around their character.
The unusual world-building system gives players control over how exploration develops while traditional survival systems create a constant need for food, equipment, shelter, and useful materials. Hostile infected creatures add danger as the constructed frontier expands.
How the Gameplay Works
Players gather wood, stone, plants, food, and other materials before using them to craft equipment and build a home. Exploration rewards additional world tiles that can be placed next to existing terrain, allowing the map to expand in directions chosen by the player.
Different biomes provide different resources and threats, so survival involves deciding which areas to create and explore next. Hunting, farming, crafting, cooking, combat, and story quests gradually turn a small starting area into a much larger personalized frontier.
