Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles is a roguelike deckbuilder that replaces cards with customizable dice. Players guide one of several Oracles through a corrupted world, building a set of dice whose faces can heal, damage, purify, manipulate values, or create powerful chained effects.
Its central Purification and Corruption system creates unusual risk. Taking Corruption can sometimes be useful, while Purification can both heal and damage depending on the target. This makes each roll a tactical problem rather than a simple question of dealing maximum damage.
How the Gameplay Works
During turn-based battles, players roll dice and decide how to spend each face. Dice can be rerolled, altered, upgraded, or removed as a run develops. Enemy intentions are visible, allowing players to plan whether to defend, cleanse, manipulate, or accept controlled damage.
Different Oracles have their own mechanics and starting dice pools. Blessings, companions, and upgraded die faces create build variety across branching routes. Boss encounters often require careful management of Corruption thresholds, making reckless high-damage play less reliable than building a flexible dice engine. A large part of the progression comes from learning how dice-building roguelike, purification and corruption mechanics, and multiple playable oracles support one another. The game gradually asks the player to use those systems more efficiently, while upgradeable die faces provides an additional goal or source of pressure that keeps later encounters from feeling identical to the opening stages.
