About This Game:
Barbotine is a short experimental horror game centered on anxiety, isolation, body image, and obsessive behavior. The entire experience is designed for a single brief sitting, following the player through an apartment that becomes progressively less normal as the atmosphere grows increasingly surreal.

Its visual direction takes inspiration from the rough appearance of early 3D games, using distortion and unsettling environmental changes rather than a large world or lengthy campaign. The game contains seven compact levels and intentionally keeps its scope focused.

How the Gameplay Works
Players move through different versions of the apartment while observing changes to rooms and surroundings. Progress is mostly linear, with each stage pushing the environment further away from reality.

A tense melee encounter introduces direct danger during the experience, while another unusual objective involves physically digging a large hole. There is no traditional save system because the complete game is intended to be finished in roughly one sitting.
