About This Game:
Batman: Arkham Origins is a prequel set during an early stage of Batman’s career, before he has formed strong relationships with Gotham’s police or many of his future allies. On Christmas Eve, crime lord Black Mask places a bounty on Batman and draws multiple assassins into the city.
The game uses an open Gotham divided between older districts and newer areas linked by the Pioneer Bridge. Its story focuses on a younger Batman confronting dangerous professional killers while beginning to understand the scale of Gotham’s criminal underworld.
How the Gameplay Works
Combat follows the Freeflow system of strikes, counters, dodges, gadgets, and combo takedowns. Predator rooms let Batman use vantage points, vents, explosives, and silent attacks against armed enemies, while new enemy types require different timing and tactics.
Detective sequences allow crime scenes to be reconstructed through holographic timelines that can be rewound and examined for evidence. Side missions target wanted criminals, Anarky threats, crime-in-progress events, and other activities spread across the city.
