About This Game:
Before We Leave is a peaceful city-building game about rebuilding civilization after generations of people lived underground. Emerging survivors, known as Peeps, establish settlements on small spherical planets and gradually rediscover technology needed for space travel.
The game avoids conventional warfare and focuses instead on logistics, expansion, pollution, resource shortages, and environmental challenges. Eventually multiple planets can be connected through a growing interplanetary economy.
How the Gameplay Works
Players construct homes, farms, mines, factories, roads, and services on hexagonal tiles. Production chains convert basic materials into tools and advanced goods while shipping networks move resources between islands and planets.
Research unlocks ships and spacecraft that allow civilization to spread beyond the starting region. Pollution and ancient threats complicate development, requiring settlements to remain productive without overwhelming their environments.
