About This Game:
Before Your Eyes is a first-person narrative adventure that follows a soul looking back across the most important moments of a human life. After death, the protagonist is discovered by a mysterious Ferryman who asks to hear his story before carrying him toward judgment in the afterlife.
The game uses memories to move through childhood, family relationships, ambitions, happiness, disappointment, and other defining experiences. Its most unusual feature is the option to use a webcam to detect the player’s real-life blinking, turning something normally involuntary into part of the storytelling.
How the Gameplay Works
Players look around scenes and interact with highlighted moments while reliving memories. With webcam tracking enabled, blinking can cause time to move forward and sometimes ends a memory before the player has seen everything inside it.
This creates situations where holding your eyes open allows a moment to continue while an unavoidable blink moves life onward. A mouse-based control option is also available, allowing the story to be experienced without webcam tracking while preserving the same general progression.
