About This Game:
BLACK SOULS II is a dark fantasy psychological-horror RPG that twists characters and imagery from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass into a deeply hostile world. The protagonist enters a distorted Wonderland while searching for Alice, encountering demonbeasts, disturbing versions of familiar fairy-tale figures, and a story built around madness and uncertainty.
Exploration is deliberately open, allowing players to travel in different directions and discover events in varying orders. The Steam release also includes content from the game’s three major DLC additions.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore from a top-down perspective and enter tense RPG battles using an active turn-based system. Character classes, equipment, abilities, resistances, and skill cooldowns provide several ways to develop the protagonist for difficult encounters.
Bonfires provide recovery and travel functions, while collected souls contribute to character development. Choices involving NPCs and the protagonist’s SEN value can alter the world’s behavior, and multiple endings encourage repeated playthroughs.
