Call of Juarez: The Cartel moves the western shooter series into a modern setting centered on a violent conflict between law enforcement and a powerful drug cartel. Three agents from different backgrounds are forced into the same task force while each carries personal motivations and secrets.
Ben McCall, Kim Evans, and Eddie Guerra provide separate perspectives on the operation. The campaign travels through Los Angeles, highways, criminal hideouts, and locations near the Mexican border while trust between the protagonists becomes increasingly uncertain.
How the Gameplay Works
Players fight from a first-person perspective using pistols, rifles, shotguns, and automatic weapons. Cover, aiming, grenades, and character-specific abilities help during larger gunfights.
The campaign can be played cooperatively, with each participant controlling one of the three agents. Secret objectives can encourage players to pursue personal tasks without teammates noticing, creating tension within otherwise cooperative missions.
