About This Game:
Deponia is a story-driven point-and-click adventure set on a strange planet covered almost entirely in discarded machinery, junk, and forgotten technology. The story follows Rufus, an overly confident resident of the garbage settlement of Kuvaq who dreams of escaping Deponia and reaching the luxurious floating city of Elysium. His plans become much more complicated when he encounters Goal, a young woman from Elysium who falls into his world.

The game combines hand-drawn locations, unusual characters, comedy, and puzzle solving as Rufus repeatedly turns simple situations into increasingly complicated problems. Conversations and environmental details reveal more about Deponia and its inhabitants, while the story gradually expands beyond Rufus’s original escape plan. Much of the experience is driven by humorous dialogue and deliberately unusual solutions to everyday obstacles.

How the Gameplay Works
Players explore each location by clicking on characters, objects, exits, and interactive parts of the environment. Useful items are collected into an inventory and can later be examined, combined, or used with another object to solve a puzzle. Conversations also play an important role, with dialogue choices providing information, jokes, clues, and ways to move certain situations forward.

Progress usually requires understanding how different objects and characters relate to each other. A seemingly useless item found in one area may become necessary several scenes later, while some problems require completing smaller tasks in a particular sequence. The game also includes self-contained puzzles and mini-game-style challenges alongside its traditional inventory-based adventure design.
