Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise Of The Dragons is a side-scrolling beat-’em-up that reimagines Billy and Jimmy Lee’s fight against criminal gangs in a ruined city. It combines classic brawling with roguelite structure, selectable missions, character switching, and run-based upgrades.
The order in which gangs are challenged can change the length and difficulty of their stages. As one area is cleared, remaining enemy territories become more dangerous, creating a strategic choice about which gang to fight next.
How the Gameplay Works
Players punch, kick, use special moves, pick up weapons, and switch between two selected characters during combat. Each fighter has a different move set, range, and special ability, allowing pairs to cover each other’s weaknesses.
Money earned during a run can be spent on upgrades between stages, while tokens gained from performance unlock characters, bonuses, and other content. Local cooperative play allows two players to brawl through the campaign together.
