About This Game:
DreadOut is an Indonesian supernatural horror game following high-school student Linda and her classmates after a school trip leads them into an abandoned town. Strange apparitions, local folklore, and dangerous spirits quickly separate the group and trap Linda in a reality where ordinary weapons provide little protection.
Linda’s smartphone and camera become her main defense against supernatural creatures. The game draws heavily from Indonesian ghost stories, introducing spirits and visual imagery that distinguish it from more familiar western horror settings.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore from a third-person perspective and use Linda’s camera to identify spirits that may be invisible to the naked eye. Photographing supernatural enemies can weaken or repel them, turning the camera into a combat tool.
Exploration includes environmental puzzles, hidden objects, dark buildings, and areas where the correct supernatural clue must be discovered before progress is possible. Linda also develops additional abilities as her connection to the supernatural becomes stronger.
